About Inkjet Printing

Inkjet printing propels ink onto the surface of paper. This allows for special print jobs that are not suitable on other UHV printers, such as high quality photo printing and the use of specialist paper (cardstock, labels, etc...).

Users may supply their own paper for this printer, though all materials must be cleared through Makerspace staff. In general, Epson and Avery brand supplies are allowed. Other materials may be allowed on a case-by-case basis.

Staff Recommendation

Printing photos? Remember that printing from a digital source may result in a blurry or "pixelized" product. The use of a dark room and photo negatives, also known as analog photography, generally avoids this problem, though the process is more difficult.
