Get help

The UHV Library Reference Desk is staffed by a professional librarian at all hours the library is open. Librarians can assist you with your research and provide assistance and instruction on Internet-related searching as well.

Access to library databases is through your school account. Use the same credentials as you do to log into your student email.

You can get help without coming to the library. Our Ask a Librarian service provides:

  • Email reference services. You can expect an answer within 24 hours
  • Chat services
  • Texting (SMS) services at 361-231-3138
  • Call us at 361-570-4166

We also have Research Guides to help you when we aren't here. 

You can schedule a Research Consultation with a librarian for more in depth research help. Consultations can be in person or through TEAMS.

Database Access

Most library databases are available to all patrons from the computers in the library. Off campus access is only available to current faculty, staff and students of VC and UHV.
