Thesis Binding and Distribution

You are required to submit your approved thesis to the library for printing and binding.  See below of submission deadlines.

The library is required to print/bind four (4) copies.  The four copies are distributed thus:

  1. Archives - this copy will be printed on acid free paper and will be bound with the original signature page from the thesis committee approving the thesis.
  2. Library Circulating - this copy will be placed in the library's main collection for checkout to other students and researchers
  3. College office of Candidate's Plan (e.g. Business Administration, Liberal Arts, etc.)
  4. Chair of Candidate's thesis committee -

You may request additional copies to be printed and bound for your own use at $20 each.

The cost of printing and binding is $20 per copy. The minimum charge is $80 for the four required copies. Please note that the library handles the printing of all theses submitted.

To get your thesis printed and bound per UHV requirements, fill out the form below. You will upload your thesis within the form.

The formatting guidelines of the citation style (MLA, APA, Chicago) and any special formatting required by your committee should be followed.  Use the Thesis Formatting Requirements for general guidelines.  You can arrange to meet with a librarian to make sure that your formatting and citations are correct.

Copyright

You work is automatically protected by copyright once it is in a fixed medium. However, if you wish to register your work, you can find more information and the link to register online at the U.S. Copyright Office. This is not a process that involved the university, but one you may pursue on your own.

Submission/Binding Form

Submission deadlines: This form should be completed as early as possible, but no later than 4:00 p.m. on the last regular class day for the semester or term in which the candidate expects to graduate.

In order to bind your thesis, we will need the original (piece of paper) signature page which will be signed by your thesis committee and the Dean of your school after you defend your thesis. Please work with your faculty advisor to make sure the library receives this original signature page. We will not complete your thesis binding order until we receive it.

This video tutorial demonstrates how to pay for your thesis binding through UHV Connect.
